A computer collection: it creeps up on you. At least it did to me.
Collecting things is one of my habits and with a career in the field of
Information Technology, a computer collection was an accident waiting to
happen.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the
definition of a collection is as follows:
collection, noun
1. Senses related to gathering or bringing together people or
things
2. A quantity of liquid, gas, or other substance which has
collected into one mass; an accumulation.
Both definition could be applied in this case. Several dozen machines and
several dozen software titles along with lots of related items fill up my
hobby space.
By means of this website I attempt to not only record the physical items
that make up my collection (in both words and images), but also the stories,
remarks, mistakes, choices made and peculiarities which arise through the
years.
In an attempt to create some sort of structure in the data, I have devided
the site into four areas. You may find links to these in the column to the
left under 'Computers':
The hardware: an overview of computers, monitors, printers, keyboards,
mice etc.
The software: an overview of software, with images where possible, in
my collection and their stories
The stories: experiences which transcend indiviual items
Miscellaneous: everything worth mentioning which does not fit above
categories
Enjoy viewing my collection!
